How Student Interest Groups Operate

Each Student Interest Group maintains its own identity, leadership, and activities while operating under the umbrella of the ACM Student Chapter. Groups coordinate through ACM for shared resources, communication, and compliance with university guidelines.

How to Participate

Join the ACM Student Chapter and attend any Interest Group meeting or event. Participation is open to students who want to learn, contribute, and grow professionally.

Governance and Structure

All Student Interest Groups operate under the ACM Student Chapter at Governors State University. Each group may organize meetings, workshops, and activities aligned with its focus area while adhering to ACM chapter policies, university guidelines, and student organization requirements.

Propose a New Interest Group

If students identify a new computing-related focus area that would strengthen campus engagement, proposals may be submitted to ACM Student Chapter leadership for review and consideration.

Get Involved Through ACM

A strong student organization is built the traditional way: consistent participation, shared responsibility, and steady leadership development. Join ACM to receive updates on Interest Group meetings, workshops, competitions, and professional development events.
