What We Do

The Software & Artificial Intelligence is a student community focused on exploring real-world software development and how AI fits into modern applications. The SIG hosts events and workshops about once a month around practical topics like web apps, automation, chatbots, and AI tools. These sessions are designed to be hands-on, beginner-friendly, and useful for building real skills and portfolio pieces.

Hands-on Projects

Build practical apps, tools, and AI-powered features through guided sessions and independent work. Projects are scoped to be completable and portfolio-ready, giving you something tangible to show for your time.

Applied AI

Use chatbots, agents, automation, and APIs in real software. Sessions focus on how AI fits into actual development workflows — not just theory, but working integrations you build and understand yourself.

Skill-Building Workshops

Learn modern dev tools and workflows in structured, beginner-friendly sessions. Topics range from version control and deployment basics to debugging techniques and working with third-party APIs.

Project Showcases

Demo your work to peers, get feedback, and build a portfolio you can reference in internship and job applications. Showcases are low-pressure and open to any project stage — finished or in progress.

Open Source Contribution

Learn to navigate real codebases, submit pull requests, and contribute to active open source projects. A practical introduction to the collaboration workflows used by professional development teams every day.

Prompt Engineering & LLM APIs

Explore how to design effective prompts, work with model APIs, and integrate language models into applications. One of the most in-demand applied AI skill sets, covered through hands-on exercises and real integrations.
