Who We Are
Girls Who Code at Governors State University is a student-led organization focused on closing the gender gap in technology and expanding access to computing education. As GovState's first women-in-tech-focused student organization, the chapter provides a welcoming environment where students can develop technical skills, explore career pathways, and connect with peers who share an interest in computing and related fields.
The chapter supports students of all experience levels through hands-on workshops, speaker events, and peer mentorship designed to build confidence and practical knowledge. With an emphasis on inclusivity, collaboration, and representation, Girls Who Code fosters a supportive community that encourages learning, leadership, and long-term engagement in technology both within the university and beyond.
